[warning: heavy geekishness follows...]
I’ve been away from computer game programming a while as I’ve been spending more time on board game design over the past couple of years.
I used to use VB6+DirectX (via the “DXGame” libraries) to code my games (see Gem Raider and Air Rally Ace). However, technology continues to move on, and so am I.
So, I’ve now switched over to using VB.Net, and I’m working on my own 2D game programming libraries called “Nimble2D”. I’ve been developing it using .Net’s System.Drawing functions (also known as “GDI+”), but I expect to switch back over to SlimDX in order to get the DirectX speed that I’m used to.
In any case, I have a separate programming blog around the work needed to put these libraries together. You can click here to view my “Nimble2D” blog.
