I am very happy with how the solo-mode of Days of Discovery turned out. (I do like the multi-player mode as well, but this post is specifically about solo play. 😉 )
It’s gotten really good feedback from experienced solo players, especially for its small footprint, easy flow, and difficulty in achieving the highest scores. Currently, it sits at a 7.7 rating on BGG, and I think a lot of that comes from how it plays solo.
So, I’ve designed a neoprene playmat specifically for the solo mode of the game. I went back to my trusty old “chalk on deck boards” look that started with the 10th anniversary Castle Danger board, and seemed to fit nicely into the sea-faring theme of Days.
Like all of my board games stuff, it’s available for on-demand orders from TheGameCrafter.com, and is priced at $19.99.
